顾犇，生于上海，理学硕士、管理学博士；研究馆员；国家图书馆学术委员会委员、 国家图书馆外文采编部主任；国际图联编目专业常设委员会委员、中国图书馆学会资源建设与共享专业委员会副主任；第八届中华全国青年联合会委员、第一和第二届中央国家机关青年联合会委员；中国翻译协会第五届全国理事会理事、专家会员；中央国家机关优秀青年；获得2004年度国务院政府特殊津贴。代表著作有《简明牛津音乐史》（译著）、《西文文献著录条例 （修订扩大版）》（主编）、《外文文献采访工作手册》（主编）。
Ben Gu, born in Shanghai, M.S. in Mathematics, Ph.D. in Management; Director of the Foreign Acquisitions & Cataloging Department and Member of the Academic Committee, National Library of China; Member of the 8th All-China Youth Federation, 1st & 2nd Youth Federation of Departments under the Central Government; Standing Committee Member of the IFLA Cataloguing Section, Vice-Chair of the Committee for Resource Development & Sharing of the Library Society of China; 5th Council Member, Translators' Association of China. His major publications include The Concise Oxford History of Music (Translator), Descriptive Cataloguing Rules for Western Language Materials (Revised and Enlarged Edition, 2003) (Editor-in-Chief) and Library Acquisitions Handbook (Editor-in-Chief).
